COVID-19 rapid antigen testing is no longer available at any Our Medical locations.

The information below is for rapid antigen testing that was available at Our Medical locations for a limited time in 2021.

Rapid antigen testing 

Patients that required a rapid antigen test for work, and that weren't experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms, could come for a test without the need for an appointment.  

In 2021, results were available via SMS within 15 minutes. The cost was $25, not covered by Medicare. It was available for patients aged 14 and over. 

What is COVID-19 Rapid Antigen Testing? 

Rapid antigen tests are a screening tool that can detect a possible infection with COVID-19 for patients without cold or flu-like symptoms. A sample is collected by swabbing the nose, which is then placed into a chemical solution for analysis. Our specialist team were managing the testing and interpretation of results, as the rapid antigen tests were not suitable for self-testing. 

If you get a negative result

Patients that received a negative result should keep the SMS as proof of result. A negative test result does not exclude infection with COVID-19 so face masks, social distancing and good hygiene practice must still be maintained. 

If you get a positive result

Patients that receive a positive result, or any patients with cold or flu-like symptoms, were required to have a COVID-19 PCR test.
